Day 1: Check In and Explore Orenco Station

Your weekend getaway in Orenco Station begins with a warm welcome at our ten-room boutique hotel, TheOrenco, located right in the heart of the neighborhood on NE Orenco Station Parkway. With our central location, we’re the perfect home base for exploring everything that Orenco Station has to offer.

Check-in begins at 3 p.m. All the information you’ll need to find your room will come in a check-in text on the day you arrive. Our smart keyword system is ready to answer your questions—see our FAQs or simply text us! Need help with parking? Just text “parking” or “where to park” and we’ll direct you right away. When you enter our lobby, you’ll find hot and cold water, unlimited coffee and tea, and free snacks. Maps and guides to the area are also available—help yourself!

After settling into your spacious room and enjoying the plush bedding, take a little time to relax. Once you’re ready, head out to explore the neighborhood. Maybe start with a bite to eat at Schmizza Public House. Schmizza offers a large menu with something for every taste—not just pizza. You’ll find pastas, burgers, seafood selections, and a large, rotating drink list. From Schmizza, take a leisurely walk around our downtown loop.

If the sun is shining, you’ll likely see locals and their pets relaxing in the plaza. Grab a coffee from Ava Roasteria or a drink from Mazama Brewery. See public art, in-season blooms, and boutique gyms and shops along the way. Sometimes, you’ll catch a local event, festival, or live music performance in the plaza. It’s a lively yet relaxed atmosphere in a beautifully designed, walkable area

Day 2: Outdoor Adventures and Local Flavors

Start your morning at Tous Les Jours bakery with your complimentary Café Ticket. Each day of your stay, you’ll get a ticket for the best French-Asian pastries, cakes, teas, coffees, and more. We recommend the strawberry-and-whipped cream-stuffed croissant!

Once fueled up, head out for an Oregon adventure. Within walking distance, you’ll find Noble Woods Park, Orchard Park (onto Rock Creek Trail), and Orenco Woods Nature Park. These parks offer trails, wildlife, and even wild blackberries to pick in summer. Whether you go for a jog or a peaceful walk, it’s the perfect way to start your day. Bring your pet along!

Don’t forget, you can borrow bicycles and pickleball gear from the hotel. For more adventure, take a short drive to Rood Bridge Park, Jackson Bottom Wetlands, or Forest Park. Many parks have picnic tables, so consider picking up sandwiches or salads at New Seasons Market to take along.

After your walk, pick up a Taiwanese bubble tea from ShareTea for a sweet energy boost. When you’re ready for lunch, stop by Little Big Burger for a quick, flavorful bite. They offer a vegan burger, Truffle Fries, and Root Beer Floats—don’t miss out!

Afternoon Creativity and Relaxation

Tap into your creative side at A&R Workshop Orenco Station. This DIY boutique studio offers hands-on workshops and unique take-home kits for creating personalized home décor. It’s a fun way to make a keepsake from your trip, whether you join a session or shop for kits.

After a busy day, take a break back at TheOrenco. Enjoy a soak in your tub, relax on your balcony, or grab a tea to enjoy in the park. If you’re feeling social, return to The Orenco Station Grill for Happy Hour round two.

Evening Dining and Local Brews

For dinner, try one of our owners’ favorites—Swagat. Just steps from TheOrenco, Swagat serves incredible Indian cuisine with plenty of vegetarian options. Order the Thali for a variety of small plates and dessert at a great value.

After dinner, head to One Horse Taphouse, a vibrant spot for local beer, live music, and food trucks. Their welcoming staff and rotating selection of local brews make for a perfect nightcap. This vibrant taphouse has a rotating selection of local beers, frequent live music and food trucks, and a welcoming, knowledgeable staff. Cheers!

Day 3: Breakfast, Market, and a Relaxing Send-Off

It’s check-out day! Standard check-out at TheOrenco is at 11 a.m., but you can also purchase a later check-out time if you’d like to sleep in. (Find more details about late check-out in our guest book.)

We’ve got a few ideas for a relaxing Orenco Station send-off, starting with brunch at La Provence. Located in Jerry Willey Plaza, La Provence serves French-inspired breakfast and lunch. Many ingredients come from their own farm in Canby, grown without pesticides. Enjoy French toast, croissants with raspberry compote, or Northwest salmon hash with a mimosa or cappuccino. The warm, inviting atmosphere is the perfect way to end your trip. Don’t forget to check the pastry case for a to-go treat!

The next stop—if you’re visiting between late April and late October, that is—should be the farmers’ market. Located directly behind The Orenco Station Hotel, this iteration of the Hillsboro Farmers’ Market happens every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

You’ll find a wide selection of produce, artisan goods, food vendors, arts and crafts, and more.

It’s a delicious and colorful sample of the best of our region—including wine! You can even pick up a few souvenirs to commemorate your visit.

Service Animal Agreement

This policy has been developed in partnership with the Oregon Restaurant and Lodging Association and in compliance with the Department of Justice Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations to ensure that all of our guests have an enjoyable stay.

Service animals are welcome at TheOrenco! In compliance with the Department of Justice ADA regulations, a service animal is defined as “a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability.” The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability.

Emotional Support Animal (ESA) “companion” and “comfort” dogs are not service animals protected by the ADA and are subject to our standard hotel pet policy (allowed only in Courtyard King rooms, $20/night charge). If you have a pet that is not a service animal, we respectfully request that you honor the good work of service animals by not claiming that your pet is a service animal.

Our Policy

  • Service animals must be housebroken.
  • Service animals must never be left unattended in guest rooms.
  • When a service animal is outside of the guest room:
    ○ It must always be under the control of its handler, and
    ○ It must have a harness, leash, or other tether, unless either the handler is unable because of a disability to use such a device or use of it would interfere with the service animal’s safe, effective performance of work or tasks, in which case the service animal must be otherwise under the handler’s control (e.g., voice control, signals, or other effective means).
  • It is grounds for eviction if a service animal is threatening people, barking,
or otherwise out of control and/or creating a disturbance, and the dog’s
handler does not take prompt and effective action to control it.

By signing this document, I acknowledge and agree to all the policies above. I also
agree that should any of these policies be violated, I may be subject to immediate
eviction without any refund. I further agree to reimburse the property for any
damages caused by my service animal. I authorize charges to my payment card for
any such liability and/or damages, and I acknowledge that I shall in any event
remain personally liable for the same.

Pet Policy

At TheOrenco, we’re happy to welcome furry friends! To ensure that all of our guests have an enjoyable and relaxing experience, we ask that you take the time to read through our Pet Policy and adhere to the following rules. For service animals, please review our Service Animal Policy.

Our pet fee is $20/night, and pets are only allowed in our Courtyard King hotel rooms. With your pet fee, we provide the use of a dog bed, dog bowl, dog towel (for muddy paws), and a few yummy dog treats from Trader Joe’s!

  • Please be a responsible pet owner and clean up after your pet. Let us know if you need supplies—the park is just 73 feet away!
  • Please utilize the complimentary dog bed, not our fancy linens, for your pet to lay. Allowing your pet to lay on our linens may result in additional cleaning fees to remove the pet hair.
  • Pets must be well-behaved and house-trained.
  • Do not leave your pet unattended in the hotel room! Anxious pets often bark when left alone, ruining the quiet enjoyment of our other guests.
  • Pets are not allowed in common areas of TheOrenco—only your room and private courtyard.

By signing this document, I acknowledge and agree to all the policies above. I also agree that should any of these policies be violated, I may be subject to immediate eviction without any refund. I further agree to reimburse the property for any damages caused by my pet. I authorize charges to my payment card for any such liability and/or damages, and I acknowledge that I shall in any event remain personally liable for the same.
